FUNGI WORLD
Art & Culture
Fungi permeate not only our soils, but also our myths, rituals and artistic expressions.
In this fungal world, we explore the diverse relationships between fungi and culture – from narrative traditions to contemporary art. Viktoria, the space for artistic research and social design, will host a vibrant art space for a week: Artists working with and on fungi will present their works, provide insights into their processes, and invite dialogue. The exhibition showcases a broad spectrum of approaches – from sculptural to performative, speculative, and participatory formats.
Evening lectures, artist talks, and workshops offer space for reflection, exchange, and inspiration. The highlight is the interdisciplinary congress. "Sensing Fungi. Invisible Agencies and the Underground", a cooperation project between Co.Lab Mycelial Space at the University of Art and Design Linz and the International Research Center for Cultural Studies Vienna.
Art & Culture is an invitation not only to explore Funga – but also to feel, question and rediscover it.

We are delighted to welcome Cosmo Sheldrake to the WUK for the closing party on October 12, 2025. His natural soundscapes will perfectly round off the festival program.
