Excitement, strategy, and lots of fun await you at the big Pilzfest board game evening!
Try Pilzfest, have the rules explained to you, and play it together right there. The best players can look forward to a very special prize: a 4-person dorm at Wombat's City Hostel – in a Wombat's location of your choice.
Pilzfest is a strategic game centered around the life cycle of mushrooms: You grow your own mycelium, spread spores, cultivate fruiting bodies, and use their natural decay to trigger powerful special actions. A game for anyone who wants to grow—tactical, playful, and with a wink.
The evening is hosted by Paradise – the non-profit association for social gaming culture. Paradice brings analog games to life in Vienna and brings people together through play – openly, inclusively, and with a lot of passion.

Game Gurus
Hannah
Hannah is a Game Guru at Paradice (@paradice.wien), she balances scientific precision with creative flair. Professionally, she works in a biology lab, applying her analytical skills to research and experimentation. In her free time, she serves as a Game Guru at Paradice, where she guides players through board games and help creating welcoming, playful spaces. The design of the boardgame Mycelia caught her eye right away and since then it is in her close repertoire. When not in the lab or at the game table, she enjoys knitting—a quiet craft that reflects her love for detail and hands-on creativity.
Gabriel
Gabriel, a Game Guru at Paradice, where he focuses not just on explaining rules but on creating connections. He loves bringing people together—often complete strangers—who end up laughing and bonding over a shared game experience. After playing 'Mycelia a strategic mushroom game' he fell in love with the mechanics of the boardgame and since then explained it to many players at various events of Paradice. Besides his volunteering activities at Paradice he spends most of his time at work advising energy communities.

Pilzfest is a dynamic tactical game—a competition for space and resources to build your own mushroom kingdom. The game follows the life cycle of mushrooms: a journey of creation, expansion, decay, and new beginnings. Grow mushrooms to score points, spread their spores to expand your mycelial network, and watch them decompose to unlock special actions. Pilzfest is a game for 1 to 4 players. You can perform 2 actions per turn. The goal is to score the most points by fruiting mushrooms, spreading their spores, and efficiently growing more mushrooms.
