WORKSHOP
Mushrooms: Life in beer, manure and the sea/more
October 13, 2025 — 5 to 8 p.m. — House of the Sea
Discover what and where everything grows and lives in the world of mushrooms!
Edible and poisonous mushrooms have accompanied and fascinated us humans since time immemorial. But mushrooms can do so much more than one might initially think and play a major role in our everyday lives – alongside the ever-popular wild mushroom dish. Whether in a brewery, in cow patties, or in the sea: mushrooms live in places where you would least expect them – and they do amazing things there. Mushroom theme day The HdM-WiFo association and ZooBot invite you to an exciting journey of discovery into the world of Lichens, yeasts, Dung fungi, mold and marine mushrooms.
Ideal for curious visitors of all ages—from mushroom enthusiasts to biology buffs to foodies. Look forward to deep insights into the hidden world of fungi in a very special atmosphere: on the 10th floor of the Haus des Meeres with an evening view of Vienna, including a break with refreshments (included in admission).
