WORKSHOP
Experience the FUN(gi) Lab
October 6, 2025 — 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. — Center for Microbiology and Environmental Systems Science
Exploring the importance of fungi for our ecosystems.
We welcome everyone to join us for an immersive experience in the fungal ecology lab. We will set-up an installation that reveals the hidden lives of fungi. We will show you how we study them, including opportunities to see how fungi form symbioses with other organisms, grow, die, and reproduce. Our installation will blend scientific investigation, methodology, and a scientifically-informed fungal aesthetic with photography, soundscape, and video. Join us for the experience, and an aperitif with a few words about our lab and the importance of fungi in maintaining earth functioning. The event will be child-friendly.
Hosted by the Fungal Ecology Lab at the University of Vienna
